Melissa is caring, intuitive, and responsive to the individual's needs. Following undergraduate studies in liberal arts, she began her holistic health education and training at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego where she earned a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine after becoming certified in Asian Bodywork Therapy. Clinical training included internships at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, and an intensive in the Sichuan province of China at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Hospital.
Professional clinical experience includes seven years at Eastlake Acupuncture and Massage in Chula Vista, located in San Diego's South Bay, until she founded Santee Acupuncture and began focusing her efforts in the East County.
A Southern California native and mother of two, Melissa is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine specializing in pain and stress.
